Venus is the primary lending and borrowing market on BNB Chain — a decentralized money market where users can deposit crypto to earn interest or borrow against their holdings. It works algorithmically: interest rates adjust based on supply and demand, and borrowers must post more collateral than they take out, which protects lenders. Venus also lets users mint VAI, its own stablecoin, against their deposited collateral, adding a native stable asset to the system.

With over a billion dollars in deposits at times, it is one of the cornerstones of DeFi on BNB Chain. The XVS token governs the protocol, letting holders vote on which assets are listed, risk settings and how the treasury is managed.
